Topic:“Why Europe?”
The European Union (EU) seems to be in constant crisis mode. To name just two: first the debt crisis endangering the Euro as a common currency, now an influx of refugees and migrants of enormous proportions. Germany as the biggest and economically strongest EU member state is expected to lead - in a consensual way. Is this possible? Does Germany want to play this role – and will it be successful?
